What Liam accesses

Liam connects to your email account (Gmail or Outlook) to extract conversations and tasks from specific professional relationships you define. You control which relationships Liam tracks by setting domain or email address filters.

How email filtering works

• Gmail: Liam sends a targeted search query to the Gmail API that only returns email threads matching your relationship filters (e.g. emails involving @example.com). No other emails are fetched or accessed.
• Outlook (personal accounts): Due to Microsoft API limitations on personal accounts, Liam fetches recent email metadata (subject, sender, recipients, date) and filters locally. Only emails matching your relationship filters are read in full, processed, and stored. Non-matching emails are discarded in memory and never stored.

What we store

• Email messages from your filtered relationships (sender, recipients, body, date)
• AI-generated task summaries extracted from those messages
• Your encrypted email access tokens (AES-256-GCM)
• Your account information (email address, name)

We do not store emails outside your defined relationship filters. We do not build a profile of your broader email activity.

Google API Services & Limited Use

Liam's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

• Gmail data is used onlyto provide Liam's features to you — specifically, extracting tasks and commitments from the emails within the relationships you explicitly point Liam to.
• We never sell Gmail data, and we never share it with third parties for their own purposes.
• We never use Gmail data for advertising of any kind.
• We do not use Gmail data to train generalized/non-personalized AI or machine learning models.

AI processing

Filtered email content is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for task extraction. This processing is stateless — Anthropic does not retain your data after processing. Email bodies are cleaned to remove signatures and quoted replies before analysis.

Shared links

You can create public share links that show task summaries for a relationship. These links display task titles, statuses, and due dates only. Email content is never shown on shared pages. Share links can be revoked at any time.

Data security

• Email tokens are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM
• All data is stored in Supabase with row-level security policies
• HTTPS everywhere, no data transmitted in plain text
• You can disconnect your email account at any time

Your rights

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time. You can disconnect your email provider to stop all syncing immediately. You can delete individual relationships, which removes all conversations, messages, and tasks associated with them.
